I’ve been lazy.
I haven’t done a new show since March 18th.
I haven’t had a regular bowel movement in months…but I digress.
After receiving many emails from confused listeners as to why there hasn’t been a new show in a long time, I figured I would sit down and write a quick update.
Allow me to answer some of your most common questions:
- Question: “Are you going to stop doing the show?”
Answer: No, after over 8 years of producing the program and building an audience in over 110 countries, I am not going to stop doing Stimulated Boredom, it’s a part of who I am now…just like this weird birthmark I have on my ass in the shape of your Mom.
Besides, recording the show is part of my court-mandated community service, were I were to stop, I’d have to go back to picking up garbage on the side of the highway. No, thank you.
- Question: “Well, where have you been then?!”
Answer: Why don’t you ask your Mom where I’ve been? I’m sorry, that was very aggressive of me…but seriously, let her know that we are still on for next Saturday, thanks!
Truthfully, the last couple of months have simply been a self-imposed hiatus and I sincerely apologize to my audience for being so quiet for so long (something I’m not normally known for). Those of you who follow me on social media know that this is not the case, as I am still quite active…but in terms of producing new podcast episodes, well…my bad, Mmm, k?
- Question: “Why have you been gone for so long?”
Answer: Geez, clingy much?
Fine. After the move to Washington DC in December and starting a new position, I have just been very busy throughout the week and generally burned out by the time I would normally record a new show (still, not an excuse). We’ve also had a steady stream of visitors, which has taken up a few weekends.
Truth be known, I also haven’t had the time to stay on top of current events the way that I used to and fans of the show know that I insist upon people keeping their opinions to themselves until they have accurate information in front of them. Because I have not had the time to thoroughly research certain topics as I normally would before sitting down to record a show, I have taken my own advice about said mouth staying closed.
- Question: “When are you coming back?”
Answer: This week! I am planning on recording an audio threesome with Vanessa and Erika from Girls Gone Geek to discuss the new, Man of Steel movie and other wonderful morsels of Geekdom. 🙂
Beyond that, I do plan to get back on track with the weekly schedule, along with discussing the kinds of topics that listeners have become accustomed to hearing me yell about into the microphone. I am also always open to suggestions for show topics, of which you can leave in the comment section or email me directly!
There you have it. 🙂
Jokes aside, I hope that this post helped to better explain my absence. I am sincerely grateful to all of the listeners who have contacted the program, wondering nothing more than when they can expect a new episode. You guys are the best and the reason the show has gone on for nearly a decade!
PS – Apologize to your Moms for me.
