The second episode, Stormborn, kicked the door down with swift elaboration on Azor Ahai.

That’s the Song of Fire and Ice’s version of Jesus that is going to send the Night King and his army of the dead to somewhere very, very warm. This is huge in the theory land of book fandom, like R+L = J big. At some point soon, Dany and John will meet. Fangirl hearts are pitter pattering everywhere, this episode of the podcast included.

Just as high as the episode takes us, it also thoroughly grosses us out. Thanks again Citadel and your witchy ways. Then when you think you’re going to vomit, it washes you over with joy and sorrow when we see Nymeria again. Yes. That’s her.

We frequently imagine that we have somehow built up a tolerance to the reckless highs and lows to Game of Thrones, and that’s the narrative’s magic if there ever was one – because we haven’t.

Now it’s time to listen to us get all up in our feelings about all these things, too:

  • Verys and Dany confrontation
  • Red Priestess and her dangerous prophecy
  • Jaime & Tarly
  • Balerion the Dread, Cersei and her mad scientist
  • Olenna and clever men
  • Greyworm & Missendai 4eva
  • Greyscale is gross AF
  • Sansa is finally queen, but somehow, we end up down one
  • Fucking Theon
  • As always, let us know your thoughts in the comments section and we will discuss on the next podcast.

P.S. I apologize for my audio glitches, I promise to do better next week. #shameshameshame

Hey, I could listen this week without blowing out my speakers! Good enough job, guys. Good enough job. 🙂

Anyway, I am really just popping out of the bushes to say that you blew my mind with the idea that there might be room for TWO in the prophecy… Ice AND Fire? Whaaaaaat?! This reminds me of the sage lyrics of one of the greatest montage songs of all time, from the undisputed greatest film of all time – Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure – and I quote, “Two heads are better than one. It’s double the pleasure, baby… triple the fun!”

Funny that Jim Broadbent, who played Slughorn in Harry Potter and whose intersts were always “Purley Academic” is now playing the Arch Meister that shuts down all of Sam’s “Purley Academic” inquiries.

Pretty sure we’ll see Gendry this season. When they had the premiere where all the actors showed up, Joe Dempsie was there. So I’m gonna call it now, Arya and Gendry are gonna have a “thing”. Has anyone else noticed just how they’ve made a point of showing how hard Arya can drink?

I hate to say it, but I agree Ellaria will probably go to Cersi. Yara will be humiliated in front of the other Iron Born as an Example, and the surviving Sand Snake will probably suffer at the hands of the other Iron Born.

Captain Marvel – I wonder if the fact that they are including Nick Fury in the 90’s and the Kree/Skrull war will tie in to Agents of Shield. (A Kree Corpse was one of the Mcguffins in Season 1)

As for Ready Player One, have you heard about the QR Code Easter Egg? In the car chase there is a QR code on the hood of one of the cars. If you use it, it takes you to an I.O.I. Recruitment site. The trailer for a movie about Easter Eggs has a hidden Easter Egg

Finally, I suspect if this turned back to a political podcast it would be renamed Apoplecticast. 🙂

    • Be sure to tune in this week, Mike, where we read and responded to your comment. 🙂
